“Grüezi” or “Hallo”?

The language of Goethe and Schiller, of Thomas Mann and Herta Müller.

In Switzerland, German is the most widespread native language and lingua franca, spoken by two thirds of the population. The local inhabitants speak various dialects of Swiss German.

Swiss High German is a variety of the German language that differs from it in several ways and has its own distinctive features in terms of vocabulary, word formation, morphology, syntax and spelling. Our German language team has these specific characteristics, also called Helvetisms, firmly under control at all times.
