Our certifications in detail
ISO 17100
ISO 17100 is the latest and most demanding international quality standard for translation services. ISO 17100 has been ratified by CEN, the European Committee for Standardization, and is the only applicable quality standard for translation processes.
ISO standards set out objective criteria to ensure translation quality. Implementation of the requirements listed in the ISO standard is verified annually and the certificate is confirmed accordingly. In order to obtain recertification, a comprehensive repeat audit is also carried out after three years.
The standard includes requirements for the handling of core processes, specifies minimum requirements for the qualification, availability and use of resources, and lists the activities necessary for the provision of a high-quality translation service.
The scope of ISO 17100 refers to:
ISO 18587
DIN ISO 18587 describes the post-editing of machine translation services. It does not evaluate translation software, but the process that follows the data output. Even if computers and the artificial intelligence used are getting better and better, post-editing is unavoidable in most cases. For example, idioms may need to be adapted, colloquial phrases replaced or technical terms optimised in the respective target language.
The ISO 18587 standard for the post-editing of machine translations was created to ensure that post-editing follows a traceable and verifiable process that meets a high standard of quality.
The ISO 18587 standard verifies the post-editing of the results of machine translations. Three processes come into play.
ISO 27001
ISO 27001 is a standard defined by the International Organization for Standardisation (ISO) that serves to standardise information security. The standard forms a basis for the development and implementation of an effective information security concept and describes the requirements for setting up, realising, operating and optimising a documented information security management system (ISMS).
For certification according to ISO 27001, an independent body sends an auditor to check that the company implements an information security management system in compliance with the directive and with security specifications.
Thanks to ISO 27001 certification, comtexto is triple ISO certified. One thing is certain: your data is safe with us.
